"I know you've all be secretly whispering and doing whatever it is your little team does when you think you're being sneaky. But don't think whatever plan you have is going to work, you're surrounded, and there is no way out." Asami walked down the line of cells.

"Why are you doing this Asami?" Bolin asked standing at the bars of his cell and trying to make his tear filled eyes un-noticeable. "How could you do this? We trusted you." Bolin said, on the very edge of officially screaming at the non-bender.

Asami turned quickly and strode up to his cell, face so close to his that their noses touched through the bars.

"Because Bolin, what we had was great and all, but sadly you weren't the one I had my eyes on in the first place. I thought this was all obvious to all of you, I had no idea you'd be so dumbfounded," Asami laughed and walked along the line of Korra and Mako's cells, running his equalist glove against the rusted metal. "You see Korra, you knew I was with Mako, and yet you still got him. Now one would only believe how massively pissed I was when he dumped me for you-"

"YOU DUMPED ME!" Mako shouted, standing up and thrusting his arms at her. "How can you even say Korra is the reason we aren't together, the reason isn't her, it's you. If you weren't so self-obsessed and attention needy we probably would've still been together. But instead you yelled at me day in and day out about how I wasn't paying any attention to you. You don't need a boyfriend Asami, you need a strait jacket, you're just like your father." Mako shouted, his hands clenched into fists and he raged on at the non-bender who simply stood there and smiled.

"Have you seen me lately? I deserve some self-obsession if you haven't noticed," She smirked. "And no matter what you say, we wouldn't be together no matter what the reason or no matter who broke up with who. Everyone knows you've loved Korra for a LONG time now, and there's no way you can deny it, there's just too much proof to back the accusation up." She smiled deeply, closing her eyes quickly and swung up her right leg at the knee. "And enough of you Mako, let's not forget who this is really about." Asami came to stand in front of Korra's cell.

"Do what you want with me Asami; I had nothing to do with what happened between you two. If Mako has a thing for me so what, I had no idea and I never did anything behind your back to cause such a break up. I can see if you'd be mad if I encouraged him behind your back but that didn't happen." Korra got up and walked over to Asami who stood on the other side of the depressingly dark bars. "I know what this is really about," she whispered. Bolin could barely hear Korra and Mako even had a hard time making out what she was saying to the non-bender. "You think by turning us in to your father, he'll somehow accept you and stop blaming you for all the equalist's problems. You think THIS is going to solve your problems Asami, well it wont, the only way you're going to get your happy ending is by dreaming about it." Korra said, catching Asami off guard as she plunged a fire ball into her stomach.

Asami fell to the ground, crying out in agony. The non-bender was even angrier at realizing she hadn't thought of tying up the two fire benders. Equalists rushed into the room and picked up Asami who cried out in pain at their moving of her.

"You'll pay for this Asami; I'll take down you and your father." Korra said before walking back to sit in the corner of her cell. She didn't want to look at the firebender in the cell next to hers. Of course she knew he liked her, they had hated each other with a passion when they'd first met, but as time went on they both started to appreciate and admire each other. Though they never spoke about their feelings or even acted upon them, they seemed to both know the other felt the same way.

The equalists carried out the crying, screaming girl and surprisingly sent no one back to punish the avatar.

"What are we going to do?" Bolin cried out.

"We need to get past these bars." Mako said, shaking the bars of his cell violently. "Firebending wouldn't be able to melt away these, they're too thick." He said after throwing a few of his own fire balls at the door.

Korra said nothing as she stood up silently, stood in the center of her cell and calmed herself. She lifted her arms into the air, her hands down like daggers. She was waterbending the moist in the room from the firebending. Mako knew what she was doing and continued firebending around his cell, creating the steam she needed to get enough water in control.

She held the massive amount of water in midair before slashing at the door with it, each time slowing cutting away at the metal. It was working, Bolin couldn't believe it. He jumped up and down and smiled widely, they were going to get out of here and he just knew it.

After a while Korra had managed to cut out a large enough hole in her cell door to squeeze through. She looked around for keys and eventually found them in a locked box high up near the ceiling above the door. She unlocked the brothers' cells and they stood there confused on what to do next.

"We can't just run out of here, there are probably a hundred or more equalists just outside of that one door." Mako said.

"Follow me." Korra said. She went close to door and put her ear on the hot metal. She heard footsteps up and down the hallway. "If I break this door down and send a mass amount of smoke in after it, they'll be too dazed to realize what's happening." She suggested.

"It's worth a shot." Mako said. He bended a massive fireball and held it inches from his hands in the air. Korra used her newly improved air kick; the door flew open and smashed into the wall on the other side of the hallway. Mako through his fireball, Korra air rushed it, blowing the flame out and leaving the smoke to fill up the hallway. They ran, Bolin and Mako following closely behind Korra.

She didn't know where she was going, they just needed to get somewhere other than the prisoner room. The smoke made it hard for her to see, she could hear people coughing violently all around them, she could also see the glow of the equalists glove as they passed over 50 of them within two quick minutes. She rammed herself up onto the side of the hallway and edged along the wall, the smoke was dispersing now and they were still in broad view of everyone. Her hand came across a doorknob and she threw it open, grabbing the two brothers and dragging them inside with her.

The three of them collapsed coughing; they were in a small locker room with dimmed lights that flickered rapidly.

"Well isn't this lucky." Korra laughed, opening the lockers they found equalist uniforms which they put on, Korra carrying a small backpack carrying their clothes.

They opened the door and walked into the hallway, the smoke had definitely cleared. It was chaos, equalists running in every direction, orders being yelled through the intercom system. They knew the avatar had escaped, and they had no idea where she went. They acted like the rest of them and frantically ran toward what looked like some kind of tunnel, after a while they slowed to a steady walk as the lights dimmed and the tunnel became dark as night, the floor going from hard metal to dusty dirt. There were no equalists roaming this part of the tunnel and so they wandered further into the darkness.

Soon they came across what seemed to be some kind of cart or car, they climbed in and Bolin pushed them off with his earthbending and they went speeding into the tunnel, it wasn't until they saw a bright light ahead that they slowed to a stop and exited the car. They walked towards it, shielding their eyes as they hadn't adjusted yet.

The bright light was not the way out as they wished so dearly for, but it was a large field filled with fresh green grass and wild flowers. The tunnel simply led to this field? But what could be the purpose of it? They wondered about where to go from there.

"Shh, I think I hear something, stay down." Mako said crouching low to the ground and walking to the edge of the field. The closer they got to the center of the field, the more they heard a steady stream of water. Sure enough there was a pond in the center of it all, and in it was what made Korra gasp.

Two koi fish swam smoothly together in the small pond; she recognized them as the spirits Tui and La, the moon and ocean spirits. Many years ago an admiral named Zhao took the moon spirit captive; intentions were to kill it, removing the power of all waterbenders worldwide. This was before any knew of the ability of taking away bending mentally and so Zhao removed Tui from her pond and murdered her, causing the lunar eclipse of the century and forcing the princess of the Northern Water Tribe at the time, Yue; to give her life to the moon spirit, for it had given some of its life force to her as a child who was gravely ill.

"What does this mean?" Bolin asked confused. "Who has a couple of koi fish randomly sitting in the middle of a field, under the city? It makes no sense." He added.

"These aren't just any koi fish Bo, those are the moon and ocean spirits." Mako realized. "But that means-"

"They've figured it out, they know how to take away peoples bending, if they kill the moon and ocean spirits it will not only take away the power of waterbending, but it'll unleash something they can't even imagine." Korra said, her eyes blank in horror.

A large roar came from the opposite side of the field and the three fell to the ground in shock.

"That did not sound good." Bolin whispered loudly.

The floor rumbled and two great big yellow eyes loomed over the three benders. What came next frightened them most of all, large white fangs bigger than all of them combined. The large whiskers of the dragon followed its face as it came out of the shadow. It was a massive creature indeed, a long scaled body the color of burning embers, it growled as it circled the team. But suddenly its head whipped to the side, as a blue dragon similar to itself came running out from a large hole in the ground, it was being chased by what seemed to be large badgermole; a badgermole who was obviously very annoyed with the dragon, it nipped at its tail as it trailed behind the blue beast.

"This is not good; I know what they're planning, Asami and the others, I know what they're going to do!" Korra yelled.

"Wait, since when did dragons still exist?" Bolin said. "And what's with the huge hamsters?" he added, he was overly confused on the situation, but Mako seemed to understand.

"Is it really them? Could they really still be alive?" he asked Korra.

"Bolin that is not a large hamster, that's a badgermole, the creators of earthbending itself. And those two are Ran and Shaw, the last living dragons; dragons were the creators of firebending." Korra explained.

"Why are they all here though? How did they even get them down here?" Mako asked, fascinated in the dragons standing before him.

"It's simple, they're finding all of the bending creators and planning on killing them, if they kill them, the power they possess will be lost worldwide. For example, if you kill Tui and La, the waterbenders of the world will lose their bending forever, and the badgermoles, if they wipe their species out of existence – the earthbenders will have no source of spirit to connect with when they bend. With the dragons, well they're the last dragons, they were hunted to extinction, the sun warriors managed to keep Ran and Shaw safe from the hunters who came for them, but if they were able to get Ran and Shaw down here and keep them as prisoners – that must mean the sun warriors were defeated." Korra sighed, it was all too much to handle at once, and she didn't think the equalists would go as far as killing so many important spirits, spirits that were vengeful and powerful.

Spirits who will unleash things that, no one could ever possibly imagine. Perhaps it was because they were non-benders; they didn't understand the importance of the spirit world, or the avatar. Korra slumped down to her knees; the badgermole made its way over to the avatar and nuzzled his large nose into her chest. The dragons encircled the team and laid their bodies down on the grass, creating a barrier of spiritual energy. They could hear Tui and La splashing about in their pond; Korra could sense that these helpless creatures knew their fate.

"We have to stop them, set these innocent creatures free." Bolin said sternly, patting the badgermole that stood next to him.

"That's it, we'll set the spirits free, and they can be our way out." Korra said standing up. She looked at the creatures, somehow they knew what she was saying; she was the avatar after all.

"Bolin, you can connect with the badgermoles, you can try and dig your way out of here, if not they can find their way through the dark tunnels faster than our eyes can. Mako, the dragons understand your connection to them, Ran will allow you on him, as for me, I'm going to waterbend Tui and La into an ice bubble, that way I can carry them out, I'll ride on Shaw. We can do this!" Korra said; excited about how their plan was working out.

They all did their parts, Korra waterbended the moon and ocean spirit into a solid ball of ice, the inside completely full with water. Mako gently made his way onto the back of Ran, Korra made her way on the back of Shaw and Bolin began digging with the badgermoles.

The plan was going so well, until everything was stopped, by a bright flash that stung their eyes and made them fall. A wave of electricity struck everyone in the field. Bolin and the moles hadn't even gotten that far underground, they came out of the hole, dizzy and confused as their pain worsened. Ran and Shaw freaked out, knocking Mako and Korra off their backs and running around the field, eventually taking flight only to crash into the field again. Korra made her way to the pond; steadily she placed the spirits back in their pond where they swam around frantically.

"Why did I think nothing was going to happen, if they were able to escape, they would've done it by now. It must be some kind of shield or something." Korra said rubbing her head where she had fallen.

"Hmm, I'd say it was the perfect trap!" Asami shouted from the entrance into the tunnels, at least a hundred equalists circled the field. "Why kill just all the spirits when I can kill the avatar as well." Asami laughed.

The girl with the dark hair and enchanting eyes made her way towards the avatar. The equalists stayed in a firm circle around the field. The mysteriously evil intentioned girl adjusted her equalist glove before sprinting towards the avatar, who was not afraid of this non-bender. Korra sprinted towards the girl, both clashing as the real war began. The brothers looked on in horror, every move they made were threatened by the equalists only feet away. There was nothing they could do but stand by and wait, and it hurt more than any wound.
